TORONTO: In recognition of extraordinary achievements and tremendous services rendered, selected distinguished personalities were honoured and presented with special awards here at an impressive event.

The Church of Scientology organized `The L. Ron Hubbard Humanitarian Awards Gala 2010’ on May 21, 2010, at Woodbine Park Inn, 30 Vice Regent Boulevard, Toronto, Ontario. The ticket was $50 or $500 for a table. The hall was full with dignitaries and renowned community leaders.

Sidra Hashmi, a young and beautiful Canadian girl of Pakistani community, surprised and impressed the entire audience, brought smile and glows on their faces, won hearts, praises and standing ovation from all the guests when she donated $500 to the hosts.

The spirit and importance of this donation is that Sidra Hashmi had saved this amount for celebration of her 13Th Birthday with the family somewhere else. Impressed by the achievements and contributions of the hosts and Church of Scientology, she took the decision of donation.

Her whole family was present there with her on a reserved table. She is the youngest daughter of Dr Shahid Hashmi, Chairman, Canpak Chamber of Commerce, and Seema Hashmi. This made the family, community, people and Canada really proud.

It was a selected gathering comprising greeting speeches, awards ceremony, musical performances, special video on L. Ron Hubbard and dinner. The Opening Prayer was made by Father Terry Gallagher, Scarboro Foreign Missions.
